RAUSER
CHOSEN TO COMPETE IN 3RD WORLD CUP OF FREEDIVING
BALTIMORE,
MD—Guess who can hold his breath 6 minutes, dive to 150
feet in one breath, is a Baltimore native, and is now one
of three to represent the USA in Nice, France at the 3rd
World Cup of Freediving October 1-7, 2000. It’s David
Rauser. He is the 28 year-old son of Bill Rauser, who is
president of Rauser Professional Contracting in Reisterstown.
He is a 1990 graduate of Hereford High School and a graduate
of UMBC.
David
Rauser, 28, began Freediving in October of 1999 as a lark.
He took part in the Hawaii tryout in May and found out he
made the team in August. “I’ve always been competitive
in just about every activity that I’ve participated in,
so Freediving was no different”, said Rauser.
Team
USA will consist of David Rauser, World Champion Brett LeMaster
and National Champion, Scott Campbell. Each Freediver will
compete in two categories, Static Apnea (breath-holding
for time) and Constant Weight Apnea (diving for depth on
one breath of air).
Rauser
Professional Contracting, established in 1981, builds custom
homes and handles detailed remodeling projects for clients
throughout Maryland—earning a reputation for quality and
